The gate usually closes the end of October, or according to the weather. When closed, parking outside the gate is permitted. It is a 1/4 mile walk. into the park.

About Cardigan Mountain State Park
A 5,655-acre hiking park in Orange, where a road climbs the western flank of Mount Cardigan and trails carry on to a treeless granite top at 3,121 feet. The panorama from up there reaches Monadnock and the Whites, plus peaks in both Vermont and Maine.
