Terms of Use

By using Park Finder (“the Site”) you agree to these terms. The Site is a free, unofficial tool provided “as is.” This page is provided for transparency and is not legal advice.

No affiliation with any parks agency

The Site is an independent project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any state parks agency or any state government. Agency names, marks, and terms like “state parks” are used descriptively to refer to public parks and the agencies that manage them. Park data is the property of the managing agency and remains subject to that agency’s own copyright policy and terms of use. Park facts are sourced from the managing agency and links point to its official pages; for authoritative, up-to-date information (hours, fees, closures, reservations) always consult that agency directly. Every agency we draw from, with a link to its official site, is listed on our sources page.

Accuracy and “as is” use

Park information — including distances, fees, amenities, alerts, and events — is provided for convenience and may be out of date or incorrect. Distances are straight-line estimates, not driving routes. We make no warranties of any kind and are not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on the Site. Verify critical details (closures, fire bans, reservations) with the park before you travel.

Disclosures & affiliate links

The Site may contain third-party advertising and affiliate links. Some outbound links are affiliate links: if you click one and make a purchase or booking, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This helps keep the Site free. Affiliate relationships do not influence which parks are shown or how they are ranked. As an Amazon Associate and a participant in other affiliate programs, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Voluntary support

The Site may link to a third-party tip-jar page (Ko-fi) where you can voluntarily support its upkeep. Contributions are voluntary gratuities, not purchases — they buy no product, service, feature, or ongoing access, and every part of the Site remains free whether or not you contribute. They are not tax-deductible charitable donations: the Site is an independent project, not a registered charity, and contributions do not go to any state parks agency or park foundation. Payments are processed entirely by that third party and its payment provider under their own terms and privacy policies; we never receive or store your payment details. Contributions are generally non-refundable; a refund request would need to go through Ko-fi and its payment provider under their own policies.

Acceptable use

Please don’t use the Site to break the law, disrupt its operation, or scrape it at a volume that degrades service for others. Outbound links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

Changes

We may update these terms as the Site evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
