About Governor Wentworth Historic Site

The remains of a large plantation that John Wentworth, New Hampshire's second royal governor, built in Wolfeboro just before the Revolution. The mansion burned in 1820; archaeologists have since pieced together artefacts that show how the colonial gentry actually lived and worked.
