About Council Grounds State Park

A bend of the Wisconsin River beside ground where Native American encampments stood, with a landing onto Lake Alexander. Fifty-two family sites, group camps, wooded trail, a beach and a pier built for wheelchairs; showers and the dump run mid-May to mid-October.

$13 per vehicle — A vehicle admission sticker is required. Daily vehicle admission $13 with Wisconsin plates ($16 out-of-state), $3 for Wisconsin residents 65 and older; 12-month pass $28 / $50. Rates effective Aug. 19, 2025.
