About Capital Springs State Recreation Area

Minutes out of downtown Madison, with a launch on Lake Waubesa, campsites, and ski and walking trail. The Capital City State Trail ties it to the city and the county bike network; the DNR and Dane County run it between them.

$13 per vehicle — A vehicle admission sticker is required. Daily vehicle admission $13 with Wisconsin plates ($16 out-of-state), $3 for Wisconsin residents 65 and older; 12-month pass $28 / $50. Rates effective Aug. 19, 2025.
