It is possible to become stranded by the incoming tide when exploring the point. Tide and sand conditions change with the seasons. If in doubt, don't go out! Tide information is at tideschart.com.
Forested picnic areas and a short walkway to a sandy cove five miles south of Cannon Beach, backed by salal, ferns and Sitka spruce. A short walk north at low tide reveals a seasonal waterfall, sandstone caves and tidepools — watch the tide, or you can be cut off.
