Posted Oct 3, 2022 - Please be aware of the following closures which may impact your trip: Upper Short Sand Creek Trail (Trail 12 on the map ) is closed until further notice. The 32-foot wooden span experienced catastrophic failure of the glulam bridge stringers. The entire span has been removed. The suspension bridge over Necarney Creek was damaged in the December 2022 storms and has also been completely removed. Necarney Creek restroom is closed due to water system issues. There are no time lines for repair or replacement of these major systems failures at this time.
Four miles of coastline in dense temperate rainforest, with Short Sand Beach sheltered in a cove half a mile's walk through the woods. Miles of trails run through the park's 2,474 acres to views over the Pacific.

$10–$12 per vehicle — Day-use parking permit: $10 per day for Oregon residents, $12 non-resident; $60 for a 12-month permit ($75 non-resident). No permit needed if you walk, bike or are dropped off, or if you are camping in the park.
