About Fort Rock State Natural Area

A National Natural Landmark rising out of the high desert: an enormous near-circle of jagged rock walls, an old tuff ring formed when this was a shallow sea. Sandals found in a cave nearby are 9,350 to 10,500 years old, among the oldest ever discovered.
