About Lizard Mound State Park

Twenty-eight conical and linear mounds survive here, among the best-preserved effigy groups anywhere in the country. Their shapes have been read as bird, panther, water spirit and the lizard the place takes its name from; a short trail and an interpretive center explain them.

Entrance fee

$13 per vehicle — A vehicle admission sticker is required. Daily vehicle admission $13 with Wisconsin plates ($16 out-of-state), $3 for Wisconsin residents 65 and older; 12-month pass $28 / $50. Rates effective Aug. 19, 2025.
