About Fort Adams State Park
The Jazz and Folk festivals fill this headland each summer, where Newport Harbor opens into the bay; the rest of the year it is game fields, a kayak launch and a fishing pier. The Army held the fort for over a century before the state took it in 1965, and guided tours still run.
