About Sunset Beach State Recreation Site The west trailhead of the 6.5-mile Fort-to-Sea Trail, which retraces the route the Corps of Discovery took between Fort Clatsop and the Pacific in the winter of 1805-6. An accessible boardwalk leads to views from Cape Disappointment to Ecola.
