Oregon State Park
The former estate of timber baron Louis J. Simpson, on craggy sandstone cliffs above the ocean, with a formal garden, a Japanese-style lily pond and two rose gardens in bloom nearly all year. A trail drops to the secluded cove at Simpson Beach; another skirts the cliff edge.
$10–$12 per vehicle — Day-use parking permit: $10 per day for Oregon residents, $12 non-resident; $60 for a 12-month permit ($75 non-resident). No permit needed if you walk, bike or are dropped off, or if you are camping in the park.
