About Fort Ridgely State Park

Established in 1911, the fourth park the state made, on bluffs above the Minnesota where a frontier garrison stood from 1853 to 1872. Oak savanna for riders and hikers, a stocked trout creek, and a farmhouse or winter chalet to sleep in.

Entrance fee

$7 per vehicle — One-day vehicle permit $7; year-round permit $35 ($26 for an additional vehicle, $30 motorcycle, $12 with a disability permit). Free year-round permits for disabled veterans, active-duty military and members of Minnesota’s 11 federally recognized tribes.
