Check your pets and livestock often. If you see unusual wounds or maggots, do not move the animal. Call the Texas Animal Health Commission at (800) 550‑8242 or contact a private veterinarian.
For wildlife with suspicious wounds or maggots, notify park staff or call (512) 389‑4505.
Burn Ban
Aug. 12, 2026 - The park is under a bun ban. No wood or charcoal fires allowed. You may use containerized fuel stoves (i.e. propane) for cooking only.
Flood Aftermath
Aug. 4, 2026 - Repairs to the bridge are underway. Drive carefully around work areas.
July 23, 2026 - The shoreline directly under the bridge is closed. Due to flooding, the South Llano River course has changed and may contain debris and hazards. Please use caution during all river recreation.
Closures
Sept. 4, 2026 - The following trails are closed:
The 0.16-mile trail connecting the River Trail and the Buck Lake Trail
The Eastern 0.37-mile trail segment of the River Trail
Construction Notice
June 10, 2026 - Utility construction is underway in the park. Expect noise, construction traffic on the roadways, and possible road or lane closures.

5 p.m. on Dec. 27 to 2 p.m. on Dec. 30
5 p.m. on Jan. 25 to 2 p.m. on Jan. 29
Only permitted hunters will be allowed on these dates.
