Oct. 5, 2026 - The South Llano River has changed course. The water may contain debris and hazards. Please use caution during any river recreation.

Screwworm Alert
June 13, 2026 - New world screwworm has been found in parts of Texas.
Check your pets and livestock often. If you see unusual wounds or maggots, do not move the animal. Call the Texas Animal Health Commission at (800) 550‑8242 or contact a private veterinarian.
For wildlife with suspicious wounds or maggots, notify park staff or call (512) 389‑4505.

Construction Notice
June 10, 2026 - Utility construction is underway in the park. Expect noise, construction traffic on the roadways, and possible road or lane closures.

Only permitted hunters will be allowed on these dates.

About South Llano River State Park

A peaceful valley where the clear, spring-fed South Llano River flows past ancient pecan groves. Tubing or paddling down the river, hiking miles of rugged hills, and watching for wild turkeys from the bird blinds.
