Check your pets and livestock often. If you see unusual wounds or maggots, do not move the animal. Call the Texas Animal Health Commission at (800) 550‑8242 or contact a private veterinarian.
For wildlife with suspicious wounds or maggots, notify park staff or call (512) 389‑4505.
Construction Alerts
April 3, 2026 - We are replacing several water fountains with accessible water bottle refill stations. There may not be drinking water at trailheads during this project.
Please use caution around construction areas and follow posted signs and fencing.
Campground Closures
Riverbend, North Concho and Bald Eagle campgrounds will be closed for a water leak repair beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8. Repairs are estimated to take three weeks.
Hunt Closures
Some areas of the park will be closed for wildlife management activities on the following dates:
Oct. 23-25, Nov. 20-22: All trails south of the Burkett Trailhead and the Isabel Harte and Red Arroyo camping areas will close at 5 p.m. the day before the first day of the hunt and will reopen at 8 a.m. the day after the hunt ends.
Nov. 3-5, Dec. 1-3: All trails north of the Burkett Trailhead and the North Concho and Riverbend camping areas will close at 5 p.m. the day before the first day of the hunt and will reopen at 2 p.m. the day the hunt ends.
Jan. 12-14, 2027: All trails north and west of the Red Arroyo Camping Area, and Isabel Harte, North Concho and Riverbend camping areas will close at 5 p.m. the day before the first day of the hunt and will reopen at 2 p.m. the day the hunt ends.

Look for the gate code on your entry receipt or check in at the south gatehouse (362 S. FM 2288).
