Spearfish Canyon Nature Area hours
Year-round. Winter Access: FS Road 222 from Savoy to Roughlock Falls is closed from Dec. 15 through March 31 during snowmobile season. The trail from Spearfish Canyon Lodge to Roughlock Falls is open year-round. Use at your own risk.

About Spearfish Canyon Nature Area
One trail ties together Roughlock Falls, Spearfish Falls and Savoy Pond in this Black Hills canyon, at its most colorful when the leaves turn. Watch the stream for the American Dipper, a gray bird that hunts by walking along the bottom.
