Two campgrounds on a 53-mile reservoir filling a narrow desert canyon of colourful volcanic rock, some of it visible only from the water. Anglers come for largemouth bass and crappie; golden eagles, pronghorn, wild horses and the occasional bighorn sheep share the canyon.

$10–$12 per vehicle — Day-use parking permit: $10 per day for Oregon residents, $12 non-resident; $60 for a 12-month permit ($75 non-resident). No permit needed if you walk, bike or are dropped off, or if you are camping in the park.
