About Cottonwood Canyon State Park

More than 8,000 acres of vertical cliffs cut by the John Day River, deep side canyons and arid rocky grassland. The lower John Day carries one of north-east Oregon's best wild steelhead runs, and elk, pronghorn and bighorn sheep range the canyon.
