Lake Minnewaska will not be open to boating or SCUBA diving until 12 pm on August 30th due to a triathlon race happening at the park preserve. Awosting Reserve Trails closed to biking (posted Aug 07, 2026) The woods roads in the Awosting Reserve section of Minnewaska State Park Preserve are temporarily closed to biking due to recent storm damage. This includes the Awosting Reserve Access Road, Awosting Loop Road, and Mud Pond Road. Awosting Beach Closure (posted Jul 30, 2026) Awosting Beach will be closed due to lifeguard shortage on Monday August 24th, Tuesday August 25th, Thursday August 27th, Tuesday September 1st and Wednesday September 2nd. Minnewaska beach will remain open on these days. No Smoking (posted Apr 13, 2026) Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere in the park preserve. No Smoking, No Vaping, No Cannabis Lake Awosting Carriage Road Closed for Restoration (posted Oct 24, 2025) Due to trail restoration project, a portion of the Lake Awosting Carriage Road will be closed to all users during 2026. Access to Lake Awosting Beach will be permitted during the swim season June 19, 2026 to Labor Day, September 7, 2026. Please adhere to all posted trail closures and details. $10 per vehicle — Vehicle Entry Fee: $10 per vehicle (under 15-person capacity).
