* FOR YOUR INFORMATION * -Many private events need prior approval and permitting before taking place. To ensure a successful event, please call the park office well in advance to discuss your proposed event. Applications for events to be submitted 8 weeks in advance of proposed events. -Swimming and wading are prohibited in the Meramec River at Castlewood State Park. Kiefer Creek is a good alternative for cooling off. -Pets must be kept on leashes no longer than 10 feet and under control at all times. RSM0 253.185. The use of a shock collar or other electronic device does not meet these requirements.
