The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is initiating updates to the Buffalo River State Park management plan to guide future development and operations.
One of the largest unploughed prairies left in the state, 250 species of grass and wildflower deep, with Bluestem Prairie next door. Listen for prairie chickens and bobolinks; the campground shelters in hardwoods by the river.

$7 per vehicle — One-day vehicle permit $7; year-round permit $35 ($26 for an additional vehicle, $30 motorcycle, $12 with a disability permit). Free year-round permits for disabled veterans, active-duty military and members of Minnesota’s 11 federally recognized tribes.
