New Year’s Day hikes in state parks are a national tradition that America’s State Parks promotes as First Day Hikes; each state’s parks agency runs its own. Park Finder is independent and not affiliated with America’s State Parks or any agency. Agencies post their hikes through December, so the list grows as they do.
