Roadwork and repaving of the East Entrance Road leading to the Lakeshore campground will be occurring through August 2026. Ten of the park's thirty cabins stand on a pier out over Lake Marion, the largest lake in South Carolina, where a cypress forest still grows in open water. Limestone sinkholes dot the woods along more than ten miles of trail.
