About Cherry Springs State Park

One of the darkest skies east of the Mississippi, ringed by 262,000 acres of Susquehannock State Forest and named for the black cherry stands around it. There is an astronomy field and a campground; bring a red torch and stay up late.

The Cherry Springs Rustic Campground is open mid-April through the late-October.

The Night Sky Public Viewing Area is intended for short term (a few hours or less) star gazing and is not permitted for overnight stays.
