To protect our forests, please do not bring any materials from these trees, including firewood, into Oregon State Parks. This will help slow the spread of the emerald ash borer, a highly invasive and destructive insect that threatens to wipe out all of Oregon’s ash trees. Help protect our forests by following these firewood tips: Buy firewood local to your campsite: Choose firewood harvested within 10 miles of your destination or buy certified heat-treated firewood. Avoid transporting restricted wood: Do not bring ash, olive, or white fringe tree materials into any Oregon State Park even if it’s within the same quarantine area. Viento State Park entrance fee

$10–$12 per vehicle — Day-use parking permit: $10 per day for Oregon residents, $12 non-resident; $60 for a 12-month permit ($75 non-resident). No permit needed if you walk, bike or are dropped off, or if you are camping in the park.

About Viento State Park

One of the best Gorge campgrounds, on the site of an old railroad station eight miles west of Hood River, with shaded sites on both sides of I-84. The day-use area reaches the Columbia and its windsurfing, and a creek runs past the picnic area.
