These tree materials, including firewood, must stay within the county where they were collected to help slow the spread of the emerald ash borer, a highly invasive insect, sighted in this county. Help protect our forests by following these firewood tips: Buy firewood local to your campsite: Choose firewood harvested within 10 miles of your destination or buy certified heat-treated firewood. Avoid transporting restricted wood: Do not bring ash, olive, or white fringe tree materials into any Oregon State Park even if it’s within the same quarantine area. When in doubt about the tree species, leave it out. Learn more about the quarantine and emerald ash borer.

Mongold (Detroit Lake) entrance fee

$10–$12 per vehicle — Day-use parking permit: $10 per day for Oregon residents, $12 non-resident; $60 for a 12-month permit ($75 non-resident). No permit needed if you walk, bike or are dropped off, or if you are camping in the park.

About Mongold (Detroit Lake)

The only public boat launch on Detroit Lake, a mile and a half west of Detroit Lake State Park, with a swimming area, grass beach and picnic facilities. Parking runs to 120 vehicle-and-trailer spaces.
