About Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site

A house dating to the 1680s near the meeting of the Nepperhan and Hudson rivers, on the site of a Munsee Lunaape village. Four generations of the Philipse family held a manor of over 200,000 acres worked by enslaved people and tenant farmers.
