About Oriskany Battlefield State Historic Site

One of the bloodiest battles of the Revolution, fought on 6 August 1777 when Brigadier General Nicholas Herkimer marched 800 militiamen and 60 allied Oneida warriors to relieve the siege of Fort Stanwix.
