15,000 acres across Putnam and Dutchess counties, with hiking trails, a scenic campground and room for boating, fishing, hunting and birding. The Taconic Outdoor Education Center runs environmental programmes on site.

Canopus Lake Beach and Boat Rentals: Open Weekends and Holidays only May 23 - June 15
Open 7 days a week, June 23 through September 1 (Labor Day).
Facility Hours: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm daily.
Swimming Hours: 10:00 am to 5:45 pm daily.
Boat Rental Hours: 9:00 am- 5:00 pm. Last boat rented at 4:00 pm.
