About Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve

265 acres near the southwest shore of Staten Island, holding wetlands, ponds, sand barrens, spring-fed streams and woodland. Its cultural record runs from the Leni Lenape to the Free Blacks of Sandy Ground.

Park open year-round, sunrise to sunset daily.

Park Office Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm. The park office is located at 83 Nielsen Avenue.

The Interpretive Center is open Tuesday - Saturday 8:30am - 5:00pm and Sundays 12:00pm - 4:30pm with exhibits, classroom space, games and access to Preserve trails.
