About Monadnock State Park
The 3,165-foot mountain that Emerson and Thoreau wrote about, nearly a thousand feet taller than anything within thirty miles and a National Natural Landmark since 1987. Three trailheads spread the load — headquarters for the direct route, Old Toll Road for side trails, Gilson Pond for solitude — with camping at two of them.
