About Bedell Bridge State Historic Site
Seventy-four acres of Connecticut River frontage where a two-span Burr truss once crossed into Vermont — no covered bridge in the United States was longer but one. Wind destroyed it in 1979; a state boat launch, riverside walking and picnic tables are what is left.
