Morgan-Monroe State Forest is open; however, clean up efforts continue. Expect temporary road closures during the week (Monday - Friday) for public and staff safety.

Mason Ridge and Oak Ridge campgrounds are open to camping. Cherry Lake Lodge and Draper Cabin are available as well. Bryant Creek Lake Shelter suffered some damage and remains closed until repairs are complete.
The following trails have been impacted or likely to have debris blocking sections of the trail that were in the tornado path. Please avoid these trails or sections until staff have had time to evaluate and remove debris. Trails impacted include Tree ID Trail, Pathfinder Orientaing Trail (closed), Scout Ridge Nature Trail (closed), Three Lakes Trail, and the paved Hike and Bike Trail.
Scout Ridge campground and shelter remain closed due to the extensive damage from an EF-2 tornado that directly hit the campground on June 18, 2026. Please check back for updates.
During periods of inclement winter weather, suggested access to Morgan-Monroe State Forest is through the Main Forest Road off Old State Road 37 or via the Beanblossom Road entrance off Anderson Road. The northern property roads of Rosenbaum Road (also known as Catholic Cemetery Road) and Gose Creek Road are not recommended for travel during or after periods of snow and ice. Doing so will be at your own risk.
Hatfield Ridge Road is a gated road that is open only Sept. 1 through Dec. 1, weather permitting, and April 15 through May 30.
