About Mississippi Palisades State Park

Palisades are the steep cliffs above a river, and 2,500 acres of them stand near where the Apple meets the Mississippi. Erosion carved Indian Head and Twin Sisters from the bluff tops; the Interior Department named the area a landmark in 1973.
