About Fort Morris State Historic Site
Earthworks on a bluff over the Medway River, thrown up in 1776 to defend the seaport of Sunbury. Asked to surrender in 1778, Colonel John McIntosh answered "Come and take it!" — the British withdrew, then returned and took it in 1779.
