About Caines Head State Recreation Area

A 650-foot headland above Resurrection Bay holds the abandoned World War II Fort McGilvray, reached on a 4.5-mile coastal trail from Lowell Point that is partly passable only at low tide. Camp, or stay in one of three public-use cabins: Tonsina, Callisto Canyon and Derby Cove.
